Lazy Weekend

Well our trip to North Carolina for second looks was postponed to next weekend due to the winter weather that hit North Carolina on Friday. For staying in town at the last minute our weekend turned busy quick!
Can I stay in bed a little longer??

It was a cold and nasty day here on Friday so Chris and I decided to make homemade pretzels that afternoon before attending the SGA Casino Night! (Check our our pretzels here!) We went with a group of fourth-year friends to the event. We all decided we hadn't been and how could we pass up a night to get dressed up, enjoy a free meal, play a little roulette, all before a night out?!

Saturday was another lazy day! Chris and I enjoyed lunch with great friends before he played a round of golf and Jackson and I went to the dog park!

Later that evening we enjoyed a home cooked dinner at another friends house. It's so sad to think that these lunches, dinners, and nights out with friends are coming closer and closer to an end!

World Beer Festival

Yesterday Chris and I went with a great group of friends to the World Beer Festival in Columbia,SC. It was a fun filled and relaxed day where we were able to take a break from the hectic life we have been living these past few weeks!

We began our day in style when we took a limo from our hotel to downtown Columbia. Once we arrived at the venue we immediately wanted a pretzel necklace just like all the other beer enthusiasts...we never bought our necklaces but we did partake in fabulous soft pretzels from The Flying Saucer.

After 4 hours of tasting two ballrooms full of beer we were off to Carolina Ale House for appetizers, more beer, and some rest!

Back to the grind already, but Chris and I are off to North Carolina this coming weekend to take a second look at a couple of programs before we submit our rank list! Eek we are getting so close! The match theme will be announced February 1st!

Two Months til Match!

Did you notice the new look?! During my long absence, while I spent days on the couch, except for the hours I was attached to my desk working with hot tea and kleenex in hand, I did a little research and decided I would attempt to re-vamp the blog. I didn't get very far because I am not blogger savvy… if anyone is and would like to help me I will gladly take the help!

I can't believe that in exactly two months from tomorrow it will be MATCH DAY!! Chris and I will be dressed up in our costumes eagerly awaiting the moment when we are finally allowed to open our envelope!

The costume theme for Match Day has yet to be determined and I am patiently waiting for the announcement so that we can start planning our costumes. Chris and I are normally not people who love to dress up but this is one occasion where we are!

I am now back to my new normal routine, as of yesterday! Working from home has completely changed my routine, especially now that I work nights, but Jackson has adapted very well. We used to always go on a walk at lunch and sometimes a run or walk in the afternoon. Now we are up to two walks in the morning and sometimes another walk at night. Last night Jackson cried and nudged his leash with his nose to let Chris and I know that he wanted to go on a walk….so sweet yet so spoiled!

Chris and I have not had a "normal" month since probably July… February will be our first since starting the new job. Dinners are going to be different around here since Chris, if he is not working, will have to cook dinner for us. That is why I have come up with the idea of adding a "Picky Eater Delights" section to my blog. I will start featuring picky eater tested recipes that we have cooked for dinner. As a picky eater wife, I have struggled with dinner over the past few years. It is my goal this year to introduce new foods and new recipes into our routine. Please follow me on this new eating adventure!

As for interviews, Chris is almost done! He is currently away finishing up 2 of his last 3! I am ready to sit down and finalize our rank list, but at the same time I do not want to get my heart set on any particular program since who knows what will happen during the actual process. We are going back for a second look in a couple of weekends at one of our top choices and possibly another in February if need be so hopefully those trips will help us come to a final decision.

Now stop reading and go check out my first recipe, here!
